Of The Best Sacrament Meeting Talk Ever, Idaho Falls Memorial Day, and Cleaning the Garage

Hola todos. We just got home from our first ever choir practice in our new ward. Good times, especially considering that refreshments were provided. Meetings today were pretty good, including a sacrament meeting talk in which the speaker discussed The Amazing Race and its intricate comparisons to the plan of salvation. No kidding. I'm going to have to get to know THAT family better, no question about it.
Last weekend Alyssa and I went with Nick and Holden to Idaho Falls and visited a whole plethora of undervisited relations, including Chari and my grandpa in the nursing home, Julie and Dave, and a whole slew of Alyssa's extended family. We also drove around and visited the gravesites of numerous relatives for Memorial Day, including a waaaay too long trip to Annis Little Butte Cemetery (which we always refer to as...oh, never mind, I probably shouldn't say in a family blog). And, of course, no trip to the rural regions around Idaho Falls would be complete without a visit to "The Big Tanks," a fairly boringish gas station in the middle of nowhere that sports three huge gas tanks painted like soft drink cans. It's like something that would be the primary tourist attraction in a city with a name like "Mud Springs, Arkansas"; nevertheless, since we always stopped at the Tanks on our way to visit Grandma and Grandpa Green back in the day, we still always go there for the sake of tradition.

The house is reaaaaally almost done now. Yesterday we moved in all of our furniture, clearing out the garage to the point where we can actually fit our car inside. Go team go. We also spent Thursday evening planting our garden. Come to Papa, bumper crop of tomatoes. Squash and beans, you can go to Alyssa. Ick. Anyway, we should be moving our little fannies in within the next few days. Rock on.

Here is our lovely lovely kitchen/dining area with all of the amenities, including the ever popular "counter covered with stuff we couldn't think of where else to put" amenity.

This is one of the smaller bedrooms, which we plan to use as a nursery once we're in the family way. We'll be going for a "Noah's Ark" theme, as denoted by the stuffed giraffe and rocking elephant. Awwww.

And, last but not least, our master bathroom, which yours truly grouted all by his lonesome. All right, all right, Calvin helped.

Holy cow! We were in Idaho recently and I almost made us turn around to go get pictures of our Zoe in front of "The Cans". Next time we are up there I will for sure. They are a vivid memory from my childhood. I think those cans have been there since pre-historic times. Every time we go up to the Buttes, I think "hum, those Greens are from around these parts too." Our Merrill side is from just below the Butte.
