Of Thai Food, Sample Classroom Curriculum Plans, Stinkweasels in Love, and Manure Pits

Buenos tardes. It's been about a month since my last post, but there's not a ton to report on. Friday was my last day of work. My coworkers took me out for Thai food, and there was much delishness to be had (of course, I saved some for Alyssa lest I get in trouble). As far as my job search goes, I've responded to at least 20 different internet ads and have only heard back from about three of those, but I've got an interview on Tuesday, with Waterford Early Learning. If that doesn't work out, I may just end up going back to school and getting a degree in biology teaching. No foolin'. Not as much moolah, but at least there's good job security. Plus, I'm a lot more passionate about teaching. (Sometimes when I'm bored at work--be warned about major-league dorkiness coming up here--I come up with SAMPLE CLASSROOM CURRICULUM PLANS.) We think Alyssa has a job, but we're not 100% sure yet.

Holden is getting married next week. Little stinkweasel. He needs to wait at least 9 or so more years. Or at least make more than the 7 or so dollars an hour he's making at Dixie Nutrition. His fiancee Emily had her endowments done yesterday afternoon, and Alyssa and I attended the session, along with Nick and my parents. Then there was quite the food dealie afterward, at Emily's aunt's house. Because my parents were around, they stayed at our house on Friday night, and a lovely time was had by all, especially by my dad, who wiled away many an hour messing with our automatic sprinkler system. Alyssa also held her housewarming party Friday afternoon. The place actually looks quite nice inside now. It's hard to believe that my first words after leaving the house after seeing it for the first time were something along the lines of "Nice neighborhood, but the house itself is really kind of a manure pit." With a little hard work, you really can accomplish anything.
