Howdy-doody. Not much going on right now--Alyssa's working and I'm scouring the internet for technical writing jobs in Utah. Alyssa has been trying to get me to look in Seattle too. Not sure what her fascination with Seattle is, although whenever I ask her, she starts going off about fish. Other than that, we've both been sick, me with a cold and Alyssa with a cold and flu over the past few days as well as gastroenteritis the week before last (for which I had to take her to the emergency room--no kidding!).
Friday the 8th (same day as the emergency room visit), we flew to Salt Lake for Alyssa's grandma's 80th birthday party, which took place over the course of two days in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building as well as her clubhouse. Good times were had by all. At the Friday night party at the JSMB, Alyssa and I played our "Irish ditty," "Believe Me, If Those Endearing Young Charms," which we thought was kind of appropriate (except for the Irish aspect, of course). I also accompanied Bethany as she sang two different songs. At the clubhouse party, we played a wazoo-load of games and had an auction, in which Alyssa and I won a bedspread AND a new board game, which we promptly added to the "tower" as soon as we got home.
No pictures for this post, unfortunately--there was a photographer at the dinner but Alyssa wouldn't let us buy the picture he took of us because our clothes don't match. Dang girl! Anyway, TTFN.
